Fan Dodges Home Run At Arizona Diamondbacks Game, Female Companion Hit In The Face

A fan at an Arizona Diamondbacks game Tuesday darted away from a home run ball, which struck his female companion in the face. Video of the incident shows the woman leaping out of her chair and holding her face in her hands, but she doesn't appear seriously injured. "Nice going, boyfriend," a television announcer said as he watched the replay of the homer, belted by the St. Louis Cardinals' Pete Kozma.Watch as the man scurries away from the ball after realizing catching it with his bare hands is probably going to hurt. His cowardice causes the woman to get hit in her upper body. Thankfully, she appeared to be fine. To his (minimal) credit, the man immediately comes to the aid of the woman and doesn't make a play to retrieve the home run ball he initially avoided. That may be his only saving grace when they watch that replay together as she ices her shoulder.
