Russell Westbrook Fight with J.J. Barea and Charlie Villanueva Ejected
Anytime two playoff teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder get on the court together, there is going to be some competitive basketball and some chippy behavior on the court. The two teams don’t like each other and have had several epic battles over the years.
Russell Westbrook and J.J. Barea are two players that have faced off against each other on many occasions. The two also got tangled on the court and got into it against each other on Wednesday night.
Westbrook squared up and chest-bumped Barea and seemed ready and willing to pull Barea’s card. Referees and teammates jumped in to save things from going completely south, but not before Charlie Villaneuva got a hand to Westbrook’s throat.
After seven minutes of reviewing the video evidence, Villaneuva was ejected, while Barea, Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka were each handed a technical. Just minutes later, Barea locked Westbrook up a second time, and Westbrook once again swung his arm in frustration. Westbrook was ejected and hit the locker room early with seven rebounds and eight assists.
