No matter what happens throughout the rest of his career, John Scott will forever be known as an NHL All-Star Game MVP.
With his two goals during the league's first ever 3-on-3 tournament on Sunday and all-around great performance throughout the All-Star weekend, Scott was voted by fans as the MVP of the game after his Pacific Division picked up a 1-0 win in the tournament's championship game over the Atlantic Division.
There has been much banter as to whether Scott should have played in the game, and whether it was a disrespect to players who are more deserving. The NHL has been accused of trying to keep Scott out be allegedly forcing a trade of his from the Arizona Coyotes to the Montreal Canadiens, who promptly sent him down to the American Hockey League.
The players made the biggest statement of all afterwards, carrying Scott of the ice on their shoulders. The NHL All-Star Game is usually a waste of time like most exhibitions in professional sports, but this gave us a moment that we will all remember forever.
