Steve Harvey announces wrong winner in Miss Universe Pageant

The Miss Universe pageant is the biggest beauty contest in, well the entire universe. You shouldn’t think lowly of it just because it’s on FOX or because Steve Harvey was hosting — rather you should just think lowly of Harvey. His gaffe at the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday night is one that he won’t be living down any time soon. Harvey announced Miss Colombia, who needed a translator throughout the event, as the winner of tonight’s pageant while Miss Philippines was revealed to be the first runner-up. Miss Philippines then joined Miss USA, who came in third, on the side of the stage. Miss Colombia cried and was crowned the winner by the reigning Miss Universe Paulina Vega.

After crowning Miss Colombia, Harvey announced that he had made a mistake. Miss Philippines had actually won, and he had read the card incorrectly. Miss Philippines then walked to center stage to accept her crown.
