Stephen Piscotty Taken Off Field On Stretcher After Violent Outfield Collision
Cardinals leftfielder Stephen Piscotty was injured in a collision with Peter Bourjos and taken off the field on a stretcher in Monday’s game against the Pirates.
Piscotty was taken to a hospital and all tests came back negative but he will remain hospitalized overnight for observation, the team said.
Piscotty was injured when he and Bourjos dove for a ball in the left centerfield gap. Piscotty’s head appeared to make contact with Bourjos’s knee.Piscotty and Peter Bourjos were both tracking a fly ball off the bat of Josh Harrison. Bourjos ended up catching the ball, but attention quickly turned to Piscotty’s condition.
