Melissa King, Miss Delaware Teen USA, resigned her crown Tuesday after a sex video that supposedly featuring her surfaced online, The Delaware News Journal reports.
Pageant spokeswoman Dara Busch told the newspaper that the organization had received a resignation letter from King's attorney on Tuesday.King also retweeted a follower who wrote, “To all the people commenting on the former miss Delaware Teen USA scandal, please remember she is a human and has feelings.”
The Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant is run by Donald Trump’s Miss Universe organization. King was crowned last November.
King, from Bethany Beach, Del., is currently a freshman at the College of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, and is studying communications, according to her biography on the Miss Delaware Teen website. In high school, she was inaugurated into the National Society of High School Scholars “due to her exceptionally high SAT scores, GPA, and AP scores,” according to the Miss Delaware Teen website.
