Kidd-Gilchrist Taken To Hospital After Hit To Head

Bobcats rookie F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was taken off the floor vs. Houston on a stretcher after he suffered a head injury when teammate Jeff Taylor's knee collided with his head. The play occurred in the third quarter on a fast break. Toney Douglas pushed off in mid-air on Kidd-Gilchrist, pushing his head back just as Henderson's knee came in. Taylor swooped in and his right hip connected with the back of Kidd-Gilchrist's head. Kidd-Gilchrist lay motionless for several minutes. The athletic training staffs from both teams came out to check on him, and the entire Charlotte bench eventually surrounded him. Medical personnel fit Kidd-Gilchrist with a neck brace and he left the floor on a stretcher. He was taken to a hospital.
