Dominique Reed carted off field after brutal helmet-to-helmet collision


Dominique Reed suffered a severe injury in the second quarter today in Memphis as the Arkansas wide receiver took a blow to the head and remained motionless on the Liberty Bowl turf. After catching a pass from quarterback Brandon Allen, Reed was being tackled by two Kansas State defenders before Wildcats’ defensive back Sean Newlan hit Reed with his helmet. The hit seemingly knocked Reed unconscious immediately as he laid motionless on the turf for a few minutes following the play. he ESPN broadcast reported that Reed regained consciousness in the ambulance, was able to move his fingers, and is suffering from a “neck injury.”
